Over $200 Million Recovered

Ronald P. Weil, Esq.

Ron grew up in the New York suburbs. In high school and later in college he had been a competitive athlete captaining his high school and college soccer teams. To a large degree it is that instinct to compete, and the opportunity to take on challenging matters for the less powerful, and the less connected that has fueled his career as a trial attorney and that has resulted in landmark verdicts and settlements. Ron has also earned the trust of large multinational corporations, banks, and international governments and entities focused on commercial disputes, intellectual property disputes, construction litigation, securities arbitrations, and all manner of complex litigation. The variety of clients and matters Ron has successfully handled provide invaluable prospective to his clients.

After graduating from Oberlin College, and the University of Kansas Law School, he began his legal career in a large Miami law firm in Miami where he became a partner, handling complex litigation matters involving anti-trust litigation, construction defect litigation, while representing foreign multi-national corporations and financial institutions in business disputes focused on intellectual property, securities arbitration, construction defect litigation. Ron then joined and formed several boutique law firms representing multi-nationals such as Dow Chemical, as well as international banks with headquarters in Florida, and the US government in civil fraud proceedings. One of his clients then referred an employee whose young son had been sexually abused at a local church.

In 1994, Ron obtained a $6.7 million jury award against a local church and the clergyman who had abused that that young boy. This was believed to be the largest jury award for a single victim of sexual abuse. The trial itself was broadcast on Court TV and drew the attention of local and national media. It also expanded the focus of his work to represent victims of clergy abuse, employment discrimination, consumer class actions, securities fraud, and business torts. Ron has obtained verdicts and settlements of over $200 million on behalf of clients. Verdicts of $12.5 million for a sexual abuse victim, $37 million for a victim of defamation, and class action for automobile defects involving recoveries of over $100 million are recent examples.

In his spare time Ron is and has been a supporter of and a Big Brother in the Big Brothers and Sisters organization. He remains an avid basketball fan, and loves preparing new and old recipes which he frequently cooks and which his family grudgingly eats. He continues to go nowhere fast on his Peloton Bike. Ron speaks conversational Spanish.
